SEN BUSINESS COACHING IMPROVES DEALER NET PROFIT BY $134,000 ON
AVERAGE IN 2008
AUSTIN,
TX. (March 2009) – During its Spring Conference held in Austin,
TX, John Lang, LPBC, Head Business Coach, reported to the SEN
Design Group membership that substantial progress in 2008
profitability had been achieved with eleven members with whom he
held weekly one-hour teleconferences for at least four months.
Specifically, these eleven members collectively experienced a
$1,473,909 swing in net profit from a combined 2007 loss of
($935,349) to a combined net profit of $538,560 in 2008. The average
improvement in profitability was $133,991 per member.
Lang is a Licensed Professional Business Coach (LPBC) who works in
tandem with Ken Peterson, CKD, president of SEN. Peterson performs
the initial free financial analysis with each member, makes them
aware of the potential for profit improvement, conducts a 3-year
budgeting process and price formula development, and creates a
short-term action plan. Lang then takes over and works with the
dealer on a weekly basis to help implement the necessary strategies
in support of the budgeted revenue and profit goals. Together,
Peterson and Lang have trained an additional five business coaches
to serve the SEN membership.
“I have long believed that the missing link for kitchen and bath
dealers between gaining knowledge at seminars and implementing that
knowledge in their operations has been the use of business coaches.”
said Peterson. “The extent of the net profit improvement for these
eleven dealers over the course of one year supports that belief.”
Added Lang: “Many dealers have good intentions of implementing what
they have learned at seminars and conferences. Unfortunately, once
they return to their offices, they get busy with following up leads,
closing sales, and putting fires out in the field. Weekly
teleconferences help dealers to prioritize what needs to be done and
then holds them accountable. Small incremental changes pay big
dividends!”
Rick Nassetta is a 35-year veteran of the kitchen and bath
industry and president of Roomscapes, Inc, a $3,000,000+ operation
[2007] based in Laguna Niguel, CA. Until he had his financial
statements analyzed by the SEN Design Group, Rick didn’t realize how
much more successful he could be. His was one of the eleven firms
that experienced a significant turnaround in 2008 profitability with
the help of business coaching. “I guess I thought I knew pretty much
all I needed to know to be successful in the industry,” he said. “I
am amazed and thrilled with the amount of progress and improvement
we have attained as a direct result of this invaluable guidance,
especially
since the economy took such an unprecedented nosedive.”
“However, we would not be in a stronger, more profitable, and more
educated position that we are today if we had not taken advantage of
what John and Ken are offering to the SEN members via the business
coaching program they have developed. The SEN Business Coaching
Service is, based upon my experience, a service that one cannot
place a value on,” concluded Nassetta.
Given the state of the current economy, SEN is offering a free
financial analysis to any kitchen and bath owner who wishes to
explore their potential for greater profitability. Financial
statements would remain strictly confidential. For more information,
